Allen Ford

Allen Winthrop Ford, 90, of Hickory passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at Trinity Ridge. Born September 1st, 1931 he was the son of the late Josiah Everett Ford and Marion Frances Ford. He served in the Army from 1950 - 1952 during the Korean War. Returning to fall in love with Janet and getting married in 1957. They moved to Enfield, Connecticut for their first home and to start a family. They spent most of their family vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. Allen loved the outdoors and was a long time member of the Catawba Valley Wildlife Club. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and watching hummingbirds. He was a handyman around the house and enjoyed building furniture. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hickory. He will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Janet Scheller Ford; two sons Jonathan Ford (Cheryl) of Atlanta, GA and Kevin Ford (Diana) of Jupiter, FL; three grandchildren Isabel Ford, Ethan Ford, and Jacquelyn Ford; and a great-grandchild Mateo Thorne.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his five siblings.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Christ Lutheran Church at 324 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602

The memorial service will be 1:30 pm Sunday, May 1st, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church at 324 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm.

Caring Cremations staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.
