Barbara Thomas

Barbara Anne Thomas, 65, of Hickory passed Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center after a brief struggle with cancer. Born December 16th, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Ned Coleman Ramseur and Willie Marlowe Ramseur. Barbara was a graduate of CVCC and worked 29 years at K-Mart followed by 15 years at CVS Pharmacy. Barbara had many hobbies and interests but especially enjoyed working with her brother Robert, growing and caring for her roses and flower gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with her dog Bo, who was her special buddy and loyal friend. Barbara enjoyed working with the public and made many friends. She was special to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Reggie Thomas of Hickory, son Rex Matthew Thomas and wife Nancy of Hickory who are expecting their first child in June, two brothers Robert Ramseur of Oak Island and Charles Ramseur of Newton.

She is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Betty Ramseur.

There will be a casual celebration of life at Caring Cremations Life Celebrations and Funerals for friends and family from 4-6:00 pm Friday, March 10th 2023 at 609 Highland Ave SE Hickory, NC 28602.
