Beverly Crawford

Beverly Lynn Crawford, 63, of Hickory passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born January 4th, 1960, she was the daughter of Hilda Wells Howerton and the late Robert Scott Chapman. In her life, Beverly overcame many obstacles that led her to become a very strong and independent woman. She was a homemaker with a love for cookbooks and trialing their recipes. Beverly also enjoyed the quiet moments of life by reading her favorite novels. Most of all, she loved dogs, especially her little shadow, Boo the pug who would sit and watch football with her.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Tony Crawford; her mother Hilda Wells Howerton of Morganton, NC; sister-in-law Sheena Chapman of Lewisville, NC; brother-in-law Billy Crawford of Old Fort, NC; uncle Tom Wells (Linda) of Cary, NC; and nephew Robert Chapman (Savannah) of Wilmington, NC.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother Scott Chapman Sr.; her stepfather Dr. Phil Howerton; her grandparents John Harold Wells Sr. and Ann Johnson Wells; and an uncle John Wells.

Memorials may be made to a local animal shelter in Beverly's name.
