Bonnie Lou Puffer

Bonnie Lou Carroll Puffer, 87, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at her home. Born August 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Hillery Carroll and Mary Lucille Gardner Carroll. She loved spending her time bowling, cooking, and shopping—always with an eye for fashion. She could name every brand of clothes and shoes, taking pride in her style. A big baseball fan, she especially loved cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs "Cubbies." She had a big heart and was always there to listen, ready to help anyone if she could. More than anything, she loved supporting her kids and grandkids in their sports and activities. As the matriarch of the family, she kept everyone close and connected, filling their lives with love, laughter, and warmth.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billie Puffer; her daughter, Carla Logsdon (Bob) of Hickory; her son, Terry Puffer (Kolleen) of Illinois; her grandchildren, Carisa Fitzwater (Sam), Tamara Smith, Catrina Skinner (Tim), Robbie "Bruce" Reynolds, Jennifer Newhouse (Eric), Gina Brancecum (Michael), Nichole Puffer (Steve), Chad Puffer (Jordan), and Sean Puffer; her sisters, Barbara Yates of Alabama, Charlotte Shores (Donnie) of Florida, and Judy Robinson of Alabama; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Jo and Correll Gardner; and her niece, Amber Cumbie.
