Bradley Scronce

December 10, 1962 — January 19, 2024

Bradley James Scronce, 61, of Newton passed away peacefully Friday, January 19, 2024, surrounded by his family at Carolina Caring Hospice House after a courageous fight against cancer. Born Monday, December 10, 1962, he was the son of James Earl Scronce and Marie Bowman Scronce.

Bradley was a devoted husband, father, son, friend, and coworker; he lived for his family. Some of Bradley's most cherished memories come from his fishing and camping trips. Bradley's personality was larger than life, he can be described as loving, compassionate, strong, and empathetic, just to name a few. He never met a stranger and could easily fill a room with conversation and laughter.

Everything Bradley did, he did with passion. Bradley never ceased to amaze everyone with his endless expanse of knowledge and his sense of humor. Those around him never worried about needing a handyman; if something needed to be fixed Bradley either knew how to do it or he would find out how. He had many prides in life, especially in his children and their accomplishments, as well as in his work.

Bradley showed his servant heart through his 31 years of service as a firefighter for the Hickory Fire Department; where he was also a State Fire Inspector. Bradley always kept busy and therefore filled his time with a variety of jobs that he loved throughout his life. These jobs included Catawba County EMS, driving for Christian Tours, Catawba County School System maintenance and lawn care, and All Tech Computer Service, along with his most recent job as the Crematory Manager of Caring Cremations, where he served their families with the utmost diligence and care.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharron Brown Scronce; a daughter Sara Lane (Morgan) of Newton; a son Eric Scronce (Emily) of Maiden; two grandchildren Norrie Lane and Nate Lane of Newton; his mother Marie Bowman Scronce of Newton; two sisters Elaine Lutz (Roger) of Vale and Pat Scronce (Albert Baynard) of Rutherfordton; a brother Clifton Scronce (Kathy) of Greensboro; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father James Earl Scronce.
