Brenda Kay Peacock Grant

December 29, 1942 — May 21, 2025

Brenda Kay Peacock Grant, 82, of Vale passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her home. Born December 29th, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Walter Leroy Peacock and Edna May Lowrance Peacock. She had a real love for puzzles and could spend hours getting lost in them. Brenda was drawn by the thrill of deep sea fishing and the occasional trip to try her luck gambling with her friends — she loved the excitement and fun of it all. She worked at Walmart as a customer service representative for 21 years, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Her faith was important to her, and she was a proud member of the Church of God. But above all, she’ll be deeply missed by her beloved dog, Molly, who was always right by her side.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Little (Mitchell) of Vale, NC; a grandson Joshua Little (Kathy) of Lenoir; five great-grandchildren Alexus, Madison, and Savannah Little of Vale, NC, and Logan and Ryker Little of Chattanooga, TN; seven nieces Jorita Raymer of Mt. Holly, NC, Bonnie Hamrick of Mt. Holly, NC, Vickie Raymer of China Grove, NC, Penny Hoover of Salisbury, NC, Sherry Gill of Oklahoma, Roxanne Ballard of Oxford, NC, and Debby Smallwood of Virginia; and three nephews David Harwood of Mooresville, NC, Mark Johnson of Mooresville, NC, and Billy Johnson of Mooresville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers Sherman Peacock and Craig Peacock; six sisters Rachel Boyd, Helen Freeman, Shelby Jean Johnson, Mary Francis Ballard, Linda Harwood, and Dot Raymer; and two grandchildren Sean Little and Kayla Little.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
