Buddy Bodiford

February 16, 1959 — November 17, 2024

Buddy Bodiford, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and steadfast man of faith, entered the arms of his Savior on Sunday morning, November 17, 2024. Born February 16, 1959, Buddy’s life was a testament to love, service, and hard work. Buddy had a love for fishing, the beach, building, and all things Texas, all of which brought him immense joy.

Buddy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for many years, embodying the values of dedication and perseverance. After his military service, Buddy dedicated over 22 years to Bunzl Distribution, where he worked diligently and built many cherished friendships. His time with this wonderful company was marked by camaraderie, and a deep commitment to his work and colleagues.

Above all, Buddy’s greatest joy was his family. He shared an unshakable bond with his beloved wife of 42 years, Honey Dee (Debra DyAnne Morris) Bodiford, and treasured every moment spent with his children, Buck Bodiford, Shelby Pierce (Daniel), and Gracie Bodiford. His grandchildren, Audrey Bodiford, Worth Pierce, and Beatrice Pierce, were his pride and joy, and his love for them was boundless. He was also survived by his sister, Darlene Lewis, father-in-law, Dr. Bill Morris (Tesa), and aunt, Anne Reneau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and T.E. “Sonny” Bodiford, his mother-in-law, Betty (Bea) Morris, and his beloved son, Brandon Bodiford.

Buddy’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived out that faith through his deep passion for adoption. Inspired by the example of his father, Sonny, Buddy embraced adoption as part of his life’s purpose. His daughter, Gracie, and his grandson, Worth, are a continuation of this beautiful legacy, a testament to the power of unconditional love and the bonds that transcend biology.

As a believer, Buddy walked in the light of God’s love and truth. While his family and friends mourn his absence, they find comfort in knowing he is now reunited in heaven with his son, Brandon, who went to be with the Lord in 2006. Buddy’s reunion with Brandon is a testament to the eternal promise of God’s grace and the hope we hold in Jesus Christ.

Buddy will be remembered for his unwavering love, tireless work ethic, and the joy and laughter he brought to those blessed to know him. His legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.

In keeping with Buddy’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. The family encourages those who wish to honor his memory to support his loved ones during this time of loss and continue his legacy of love and faith in their own lives.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:21
