On March 12, 2026, Carol A. Benetti went to be with her Lord and Savior. Born December 17, 1939, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to the late Caesar Benetti and Maria Silva, she was a light to the world.
Known by many names, including “Momma”, “Carolann”, “Sis”, and more that only she, her friends, and loved ones know. Carol was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend,
Former Nun, Nurse, and Social Worker. The magnitude of her life on this earthly plane could never be adequately expressed in words. She volunteered her time to anyone in
need and, earlier in her life, traveled to Rwanda with Doctors of the World (Medicines du Monde) to help children living in an orphanage during the civil war taking place
in the country at that time. She gave all she had to all she met and never hesitated to give her last dollar to someone in need. She was a blessing to everyone she met. There are,
no doubt, stories only she and the people she met know and shared. Too many experiences to tell all, but she lived fully, she made the world a better place, and did it her way. She will continue to have the biggest wings an angel could ever be blessed with.
Those that preceded her in death include her parents, baby sister, her beautiful daughter and light of her life - Laura Joslin Kelly, her twin brother - an equally unique soul - Joseph Benetti, her oldest sister - Margaret St. John, and her eldest brother, Porky - yet another equally unique soul who kept her and her siblings laughing forever into God’s infinite Kingdom. Others included nieces and nephews, each as unique as the family they formed.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include her daughter, Elizabeth Ciaran Kelly, her brother, Robert Fitta, his wife, as well as many nieces and nephews, each as unique as the family they formed. Finally, her sweet four-legged doggie, Navy Bean.
She is grateful for those who surrounded her on this earthly plane. She is grateful for the care and compassion of medical professionals over the last several years. She is also grateful for her friends and colleagues – Terry Spencer and Thelma Horton, there are others too many to list!
These are just some of the ones left to remember Carol. She touched so many lives that it would take an entire volume of books to list each lasting memory.
She fought the good fight, finished the race, never losing faith. Now let her find eternal rest and peace with her Lord and Savior. She is dancing, running, singing, and smiling
with all her predecessors and flying with her angel, Laura – her light.
