Charles Hugh Ethridge

Charles Hugh Ethridge, 87, of Lenoir passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, at his home. Born May 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Charlie Talmage Ethridge and Jennie Mae Scroggins Ethridge.

A kind, loving, caring, and devoted husband and father, he was a faithful servant of God and an Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States military, first as an Aviation Electrician's Mate in the Navy and later retiring as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force. He was also a talented woodworker, athlete, and animal lover. He will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to service, and the kindness and compassion he showed to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita Castillo Ethridge; his daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Ethridge Earwood; his stepchildren, Mary-Ann Margarette Lim Tian Curry (Mitchell Curry), Mark Castillo Lim Tian (Rosario Karina Urbano Lim Tian), and Mathew Kenneth Castillo Lim Tian; his grandson, Nicholas Gainey; his step-grandchildren, Matt Kristoff Lim Tian and Macy Kirstenn Lim Tian; his sisters, Linda Bailey (Travis), Patricia Siskron (Harold), Marshia Blackburn, and Barbara Harns (Tom).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Margaret Ethridge; his son, Charles Daniel Ethridge; his daughter, Teresa Irene Hinson; and his sisters, Eugenia Harvey and Janice Hunneycut.
