Charlotte Segar

Charlotte Joann Johnson Segar, 64, of Maiden passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House in Newton. Born January 27th, 1960 she was the daughter of the late Jimmie L Johnson and Dorothy R. Johnson of Kokomo, Indiana. Charlotte loved all her family and friends dearly; if your path crossed with hers you became part of her family. In later years, she embraced a more free-spirited lifestyle; traveling with fairs from town to town, enjoying everyone she met along the way. About two years ago, she settled down, fulfilling her days by helping others and crocheting to pass the time.

Charlotte is survived by three children Joanna Settlemyer (Jasmine) of Brooklyn, New York, Robert Riddell of Roanoke, Virginia, and Nancy Hendrickson of Maiden, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law Kasey Whittington (Arthur Hendrickson) of Highlands, North Carolina; siblings, Carolyn Henry (Charles) of Tipton, Indiana, Janie Anderson (Ron) Lonoke, Arkansas, Jimmy Johnson (Sheila) of Lonoke, Arkansas and Evelyn Leonard (Austin) of Arkansas; and several grandchildren, along with bonus children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Arthur Hendrickson; a brother Jerry Johnson; a sister Elaine Carpenter; and several other family and close friends.

A Celebration of Her Life will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the East Shelter #1 at the Martin L. King Jr. Park in Statesville, 911 Lakewood Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.
