Chester Hawks

Chester A. Hawks, 59, of Claremont passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born October 17th, 1964, he was the son of the late Billy Lee Hawks and Bessie Marie Hawks. Chester greatly valued his friends and family and loved spending time with them. His passions in life were deer hunting, spending time outside, and sharing stories. He will be forever remembered for his great storytelling skills.

He is survived by his partner of 28 years Melinda Mayhew of Claremont, NC; a daughter Chelsea Hawks of Claremont, NC; a son Anthony Hawks of Taylorsville, NC; a granddaughter Rylee Buterbaugh; a sister Rhonda Hawks of Barrett, WV; and two brothers Bill Jr. Hawks of Huntington, WV and Curtis D. Hawks (Brenda) of Sophia, WV.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Nyoka Hawks White and Marlene Hawks; and a brother Dave Hawks.
