Christine Goldie Carter

Christine Dean Carter, 73, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. She was the cherished wife of the late Gary Lynn Carter, with whom she shared a loving and steadfast partnership. Born to the late C.L. and Gladys Dean of Lenoir, North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Barber and Mary Pugh, who held special places in her heart.

Christine is survived by her two sons, each of whom brought her immense pride. Her son Khristopher Carter and his wife Stacey, along with grandchildren Skylar, Lesley, Evan, and great‑granddaughter McKinley, all of Florida, filled her life with joy and purpose. Her son Toby Carter and his wife Stephanie of Tennessee, along with her grandson Kyle Carter.

She is also survived by her brothers: Charlie (Betsy) Dean of Virginia, William (Bea) Dean of North Carolina, and Glenn Dean of North Carolina. Christine leaves behind several nieces and nephews, each of whom she cared for deeply.

Though her passing leaves a profound emptiness, her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones who went before her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the love she shared, and the lives she touched.
