Chryl Ann Edwards Deal

Chyrl Ann Deal (née Edwards), 69, of Newton, North Carolina, passed away on January 2, 2026, in her hometown of Newton.

Born on April 26, 1956, in Newton, Chyrl was the daughter of the late Charles and Barbra Edwards. She remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life and was known for her unwavering faith and gentle spirit. A devoted Christian, she attended King’s Way Baptist Church, where she found strength and fellowship.

Chyrl shared a loving marriage with her husband, Verlie Deal. Together, they built a life centered around family and faith. She was a nurturing presence to those around her—kind-hearted, sweet, and caring in all that she did.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Charity Sigmon and son-in-law Jason Ledford and daughter Verlina Hoke and son-in-law Walter Hoke; and her son, Ronald Sigmon. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Amber Skeens, Abigail Hoke, Valerie Deal, Braxton Ledford, Hunter Hoke, and Jay Ledford; as well as great-granddaughters, Maeva Betancourt, Vyla Betancourt, and Paisley Gallimore.

Chyrl is also survived by her sister, Sandy Forbis, and brothers, Tommy Edwards and Leroy Edwards.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening brought her peace and fulfillment, while time spent with family filled her heart with happiness. Her home was a place of warmth where love bloomed as abundantly as the flowers she tended.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kings Way Baptist Church, 1146 Robinwood Rd, Newton, NC 28658. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Andy Stephens officiating.
