Cynthia "Cyndi" Lynn Blubaugh

Cynthia "Cyndi" Lynn Blubaugh, 60, of Newton closed her final chapter Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House. Born June 29th, 1964, she was the daughter of Lowell Francis Hood and Jeanie Sue Hood—two people who probably never imagined they were raising such a stubborn, free-spirited, kind-hearted force of nature.

Cyndi was many things—a lover of dogs, a giver of big-hearted advice (whether you asked for it or not), and a woman who lived life on her terms. She had a way of making people feel like family, whether you were blood-related or just lucky enough to cross paths with her. One dear friend put it best: "We weren’t sisters by blood, but we were by heart. You were a part of my family, and I will forever cherish all our memories together." Cyndi will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Glenn Blubaugh, and her sister, Venitta Shields.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Jeanie Hood.
