David Crosby

David Cook Crosby, 80, of Hickory passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his home. Born, August 23rd, 1943 he was the son of the late Benjamin (BC) Clemson Crosby and Evelyn Mae Crosby. David loved the Lord and was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He cherished his wife of 58 years and his family. After his 40 year career in the grocery business he served his community on different city commissions. David was instrumental in initiating the City of Hickory farmers market and enjoyed serving the community through his hot dog cart for many years. David was also a local business owner of Fabrics and More with his wife Sharon.

In addition to his wife Sharon Crosby, his children Chris Crosby (son) - Oviedo, FL; Carin Margiotta (daughter) and husband Frank Margiotta - Rockledge, FL with grandchildren Grace, Bennett, and Tessie Margiotta; and Erin Porter (daughter) husband Jason Porter - Hickory, NC with grandchildren Hannah and Lainie Porter; Joyce Paben (sister) - Hickory, NC; and many nieces and nephews survive him.

In addition to his parents his brother Ben Crosby and sister Sandra Crosby preceded him in death.

David lived his life through Christ’s strength in all ways. Philippians 4:13.

A service will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kingdom Life Church at 691 9th St NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
