David O'Keefe

David Thomas O'Keefe Jr., 75, of Mill Spring passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Dave was born in New York on September 1st, 1948 to David Thomas O'Keefe Sr. and Mary Louise Rainey O'Keefe.

Raised in Levittown on Long Island, one of America’s first suburbs, Dave started his own family in the same home in which his parents were original owners. Dave was a man who lived his life with intention and purpose. He valued hard work, and accountability which led him to a successful career as Director of Operations in the business of high end building supplies. Upon his retirement Dave, his wife Lynda, and son, Michael relocated to Mill Spring N. Carolina. Although retired, Dave was not one to sit idly, and soon after he began a successful home improvement company with his brother-in-law Ray.

Dave was well known as a lifelong learner and a fitness enthusiast who loved working out, staying active, and inspiring others to do the same. As much as Dave loved to learn and dove headfirst into all he did, he also valued the opportunity to share his wealth of knowledge, becoming a mentor to many.

Dave is survived by his wife Lynda O'Keefe; a daughter and son-in-law, Margret and Frank Grouzis of Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law David III and Tina O’Keefe of New York; son Michael O'Keefe of North Carolina; and four grandchildren Daelynn, Cameron, Lauryn and Christina.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother William Sawyer.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a later date.
