David Wayne Queen

David Wayne Queen, 68, of Newton, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House. Born Saturday, January 21, 1958, he was the son of David Franklin Queen and Carolyn Smith Rozelle.

David was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, drag racing with his brother, and was known as a champion pool player. He also loved playing softball, practicing martial arts, and spending time fishing. Above all, David cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Queen; his father, David Franklin Queen; his mother, Carolyn Smith Rozelle; his daughters, Jennifer Brown (Joey) and Rita Browning; his sons, David Queen (Beth) and Jeff Taylor; his brother, Bobby Queen (April); his sisters, Pam Watts, Dawn Benge (Andy), and Denise Rozelle; his grandsons, Cordale Brown and Blaze Taylor; and his granddaughters, Caitlyn Queen, Gracie Queen, Emily Queen, Maggie Queen, and Roxy Taylor.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will have a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Caring Cremations at 609 Highland Ave. SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
