David Shelby Witherspoon, 55, of Cornelius, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

David was born on August 26, 1970, in Colorado. He lived a life marked by resilience, experiences across different places, and the connections he made along the way. In recent years, he resided in Cornelius, North Carolina, after spending time living in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Shelby Witherspoon Sr., and his mother, Carolyn Ann Witherspoon.

David is survived by his sister, Susan Hook; his former wife, Kimberly Mason; and his stepchildren, Madelyn Mason and Camron Mason.

David will be remembered by those who knew him for his presence in their lives and the memories shared over the years.
