Deborah Johnson

Deborah "Debbie" Moles Johnson, 68, of Hudson, passed peacefully from her temporary life here on Earth to live eternally with her Lord and Savior, in Heaven, on Sunday, June 18, 2023. There, she joins her husband, parents and her siblings. Debbie was under the compassionate care of Amorem in Hudson (formerly Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care). She had been surrounded by her loving family throughout her lengthy illness. Debbie was born in Cabin Creek, WV to the late Houston Moles, Sr. and Clara Ethel Martin Moles, on December 31, 1954.

Debbie worked for a short while in the furniture industry, but her favorite job was being "Mamaw" to her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who meant the world to Debbie.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Edlyn Richard Johnson, Sr., her brother, Houston Moles, Jr. and his wife Carol, her sisters, Elsie Myers and husband Benjamin, Lois Minton, Ann Moles and a nephew, Thomas Rosenbalm.

Survivors include her daughters, May Tapper and husband Eddie, Amanda McKinney and partner Billy and her son, Edlyn Richard Johnson, Jr. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jackson Tapper and wife Savannah, Shelby Tapper, Paige Johnson, Vincent McKinney, Dylan Johnson and wife Ayron, Brigit Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Riley Leatherman and her four great-grandchildren, Korbyn, Payten, Carter and Mason. Further surviving Debbie are two sisters, Linda Kendrick and husband James and Alice Annis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Deborah Johnson would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to the caring and compassionate staff of Amorem of Hudson.

The family is holding a Memorial Service on Friday June 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Hudson United Methodist Church at 383 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28638.
