Donald Edward Atwood

Donald Edward Atwood, 67, of Maiden, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026.

He was born on November 21, 1958, in Proctor, Vermont, to Theron and Jean Atwood.

Donald proudly served his country in the military for 13 years. Following his military service, he worked in the truck driving industry.

Donald will be remembered for his warmth, quiet strength, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Atwood; his children, Austin and Rebecca Atwood, Kayley Atwood, and Makayla Pilkey; his sisters, Donna and her husband, Micheal Doaner, Tammy Charbonneau, and Linda Marie; his grandchildren, Cora, Shiloh, and Silas Atwood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his aunt, Marilyn LaPorte.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Theron Edward Atwood and Jean Eleanor Atwood; his brothers, Aldys Joe Tibbetts and Duane Atwood; his niece, Mandy Lynn Cavacas; and many aunts and uncles.

A graveside burial will be held at a later date in Forestdale, Vermont, for immediate family.
