Ellen "Claudette" Hutto

Claudette Hutto, 76, of Granite Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three daughters on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Born in Lawndale, on April 22, 1950, to the late Billy Throneburg and Jaunita Ledford.

Affectionately known as Mom or Memaw to many, Claudette was loved by everyone who met her. She made a lasting impression on many people’s lives and will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her daughters, April Pyle (Shaynne), Angie Somerville, both of Virginia, and Misty Lalonde, as well as seven stepchildren; her grandchildren, Hailey King, Caleb King (Karen), Farrah Loar, Amanda Craft, Steadman Stahl, Jack Stahl, James Doffermyre, Deanna Doffermyre, and Zoey Doffermyre; her great-grandchildren, Amelia, Eli, Josie, Karter, Evelyn, Eden, Layne, and Everett. She is also survived by her brothers, Burt Throneburg and Raymond Farley, as well as her three nephews and her niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Doffermyre and James Hutto; her sister, Judy Doores; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte King.

A celebration of Claudette’s life will be held at a later date.
