Garrell Reitzel

Garrell Reitzel, 80, of Catawba County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory, NC.

Garrell was a proud Veteran and served in the United States Army. He then worked as an upholsterer for Drexel Furniture. He was a skilled bass guitarist and bandmember for the "High Tones" playing at local dance halls, like "The Hop". Garrell loved boating, fishing, hunting, and restoring classic hot rod cars.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Clark. Garrell was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Good Atwood; his father, Hugh Reitzel; and his son, David Reitzel.

The family would like to thank Via Health Partners Hospice Care, Palliative Care, Catawba Memorial Hospital, and the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Hickory, NC.
