Gordon Elliot Pugh, 69, of Conover, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home. Born November 18, 1955, he was the son of Roy Prentice Pugh and Eunice Avinell Gillentine Pugh.
He was a true renaissance man—talented, creative, and endlessly resourceful. Known for his gift of conversation, he could talk with anyone and make them feel right at home. He loved to paint and draw, finding joy in bringing his ideas to life through art. A skilled mower mechanic and a patient teacher, he shared his knowledge of welding with his children and grandchildren, passing on both his skills and his love of hard work. He was the kind of person who could make anything happen for the people he loved and was always there to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jean Cook; his daughters, Layla Parlier, Karen Miller (Ricky Walker), and April Docalavich (Travis); his son, Stevie Cook; his grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Jacob, Carla, Ashley, James, Carrie, Justin, and Austin; and many beloved great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eunice Pugh.
