James Clyde Garver

James Clyde Garver, 88, of Conover passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Carolina Caring Hospice House. Born May 4th, 1935 he was the son of the late Clayton and Hallie Calloway Garver. He was a US Navy Korean War Veteran. James retired as the postmaster of High Shoals Post Office. He was over the Literacy Council of Lincoln County and a member of multiple civic groups in the community.
He is survived by two sons Steve Garver of Conover and Timothy Garver (Phyllis) of Lincolnton; and four grandchildren David Garver of Lincolnton, Jessica Garver of Durham, Journey Lail of Lincolnton, and Patience Lail of Lincolnton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Garver.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date.
