James Maxey

James Calvin Maxey, 63, of Newton passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born May 18th, 1959 he was the son of James Calvin Maxey Sr. and the late Marlene Smith Snipes.
He is survived by his son James Russ (Sarah Shearman) of Vale and another son George Alexander of Gaston, SC; his father Jimmy Maxey (Betty) of Amherst, VA; two grandchildren Lillyana Daniels and Alasdair Daniels, and one more grandchild that will be here around March; three sisters Sharon Maxey of Granite Falls, Donna Davis of Newton, and Lawander Howard (David) of Granite Falls; and a brother Ricky Overstreet of Conover.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his long time significant other Dorine Russ; and by his brother Calvin Maxey.
A memorial service for Dorine and James will be from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday January 8, 2023 at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 1405 Emmanuel Church Road, Conover, NC 28613.
Caring Cremations staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.
