Joe Mcvickers

Joe William McVickers, 44, of Newton passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 at his home. Born May 22nd, 1978 he was the son of Van Rue McVickers and Margaret Ethel McVickers. Joe was a roofing labor by trade who had just earned his fork lift certification in hopes of starting a new career.He loved his family and friends unconditionally, he also loved fishing, playing pool, and horse shoes. Joe was the type of person who would give you the shirt right off his back and never met a stranger. You could always count on Joe to lend a listening ear and keep it to himself, no matter what the cost or outcome would be. He will surely be missed.

He is survived by his mother Margaret McVickers, a stepfather Kelly Morrison; a son Joseph Sherwood (Dezi); two sisters Debbie Brooker (Gary) and Treasa Starkey (Randy); a brother Van Rue McVickers Jr ( Becky ); seven nephews; two nieces; one great nephew and four great nieces.

He was proceeded in death by his father Van Rue Mcvickers Sr; and two grandmothers Lois Turner and Jene Mcvickers.

Celebration of life in his name will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday September 3,2022 at 800 West Marion Street, Shelby, NC 28150.
