John Stanley

John Edward Stanley, 90, of Taylorsville, NC, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on November 6, 2023, with family by his side. He was born on January 27, 1933, in Anderson, Indiana. John had a fulfilling career at General Motors before retiring, earning numerous awards and certifications.

John lived a full and remarkable life filled with love and dedication to his children and grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered for his contributions and the lasting impact he made during his time with us. He had a passion for horses, fishing, golfing, and exploring caves and waterfalls. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature and spend time with his family and friends. He volunteered at a soup kitchen in Newport, TN for several years and volunteered for numerous projects for many churches over the years.

John is survived by his loving daughters: Linda Slucher and husband Van of Fort Wayne, IN; Tanya Anderson and partner George of Henderson, NV; Joni Newberry and husband Daniel of Cosby, TN; Tina Stuart and husband Mike of Taylorsville, NC; Sandy Hance of Newport, TN; and Samantha Brock and husband Kenneth of Lenoir, NC. He had 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Linda Stanley. He was preceded in death by his father Tom Stanley, mother Elizabeth, brother Tom, and sister Marie.

A celebration of life will be planned in the spring and held in Tennessee. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
