Jose Torres

Jose Luis Torres passed away on January 15th, 2024. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of nearly 55 years, Mavis Baker Torres, his son Miguel Torres, his daughter Angelica Torres-Jeffers and son-in-law John-Paul Jeffers, and his many nieces and nephews in Texas.

Jose was a kind and gentle soul who gave his all to anything he did. He served in the US Air Force repairing and maintaining aircraft to ensure the safety of the pilots that flew them. After, he continued working for Lockheed Martin in a similar role before moving on to Georgia Kaolin/Imerys, from which he retired to be with his family. He had a wealth of knowledge in mechanics and the inner workings of machinery.

He was a man of the simple pleasures in life - a meal together with his family, down home cooking, traditional Mexican cuisine, an occasional Modelo, and catching the Dallas Cowboys game on TV.

Jose went to rest peacefully, in his home and surrounded by the family that so carefully cared for him just as he had cared for them. He will forever be a husband, a father, a friend, and a wonderful man.
