Joseph Graybeal

Joseph Samuel Graybeal, 70, of Ashe County passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Born July 13th, 1953 he was the son of Wade Denton Graybeal and Opal Susan Graybeal. Joe graduated from Ashe Central High School and shortly after began his lifelong work and business of vinyl siding and replacement window installation. Joe was well-liked by everyone; mostly due to his happy-go-lucky attitude. He always enjoyed seeing his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his buddies playing cards.

He is survived by two daughters Amy Branch (Mark) of Boone and Chasey Graybeal of Laurel Springs; son Jody Graybeal (Julie) Warrensville; four granddaughters Emily Branch Chapple of Elk Park, Alyson Branch Lemon of Knoxville, TN, Victoria Branch of Boone, and Haleigh Graybeal of Warrensville; two great-granddaughters Madilyn Chapple, Lorelai Chapple; one great-grandson Banks Lemon; two sisters Judy Roark (Jerry) of Jefferson and Shirley Dunn (Boyd) of Butler, TN; a sister-in-law Joann Graybeal of Creston; long time girlfriend Ruth Lyalls; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Donna Jean Combs and Arwanna Watson; and a brother David Graybeal.

The family would like to thank Ruth for the great care she took of Joe.
