Josue Figueroa Gallardo

Josue Figueroa Gallardo, 47, of Newton, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Born Tuesday, January 3rd, 1978, he was the son of the late Antonio Figueroa Villegas and Adelaida Gallardo Suarez.

Josue was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose faith, kindness, and strong work ethic touched everyone who knew him. Born in Panindicuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, Josue grew up on a family farm where he developed his lifelong love for nature, animals, and working with his hands. He carried those values with him throughout his life, finding peace in the outdoors, especially when fishing, hunting, or tending to his garden. His roses were his pride and joy, a reflection of the care and dedication he put into everything he did.

Josue had a deep faith and a passion for sharing the word of God and the gospel with others. He loved to speak about his faith and encourage those around him to seek strength and hope through God’s love.

A talented craftsman, Josue worked for himself in construction and masonry. He could build just about anything—laying brick, stone, and floors, or even entire homes. He took great pride in his work, and his skill and reliability earned him the trust of everyone who called on him. No matter the task, Josue was always willing to help.

Above all, Josue was a man of family, faith, and heart. His warmth, generosity, and spirit will continue to live on in the lives of his wife, children, and all who were blessed to know him.

In addition to his mother, his wife of 17 years, Gabriela Elias Millan, four daughters, Bianca Lopez Elias, Jenifer Lopez Elias, Adelaida Figueroa-Elias, Jaquelin Figueroa-Elias; a son, Josue Figueroa Elias; a sister, Eva Figueroa-Gallardo; and two brothers, Marcos Figueroa-Gallardo, Elias Figueroa, Gallardo, survive him.

The funeral will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home with Armando Duran of Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.

Caring Cremations staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.

Josue Figueroa Gallardo, de 47 años, de Newton, falleció el jueves 30 de octubre de 2025 en Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Nació el martes 3 de enero de 1978 y era hijo del fallecido Antonio Figueroa Villegas y de Adelaida Gallardo Suárez.

Josue fue un esposo, padre y amigo devoto, cuya fe, bondad y fuerte ética de trabajo tocaron la vida de todos los que lo conocieron. Nacido en Panindícuaro, Michoacán, México, Josue creció en un rancho familiar donde desarrolló su amor de por vida por la naturaleza, los animales y el trabajo con sus manos. Llevó esos valores consigo durante toda su vida, encontrando paz en el aire libre, especialmente al pescar, cazar o cuidar su jardín. Sus rosas eran su orgullo y alegría, un reflejo del cuidado y la dedicación que ponía en todo lo que hacía.

Josue tenía una fe profunda y una gran pasión por compartir la palabra de Dios y el evangelio con los demás. Le encantaba hablar de su fe y animar a quienes lo rodeaban a encontrar fortaleza y esperanza en el amor de Dios.

Hábil en su oficio, Josue trabajó por cuenta propia en construcción y albañilería. Podía construir prácticamente cualquier cosa: colocar ladrillos, piedra y pisos, e incluso levantar casas completas. Se enorgullecía mucho de su trabajo, y su habilidad y confiabilidad le ganaron la confianza de todos los que lo llamaban. No importaba la tarea, Josue siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar.

Por encima de todo, Josue fue un hombre de familia, fe y gran corazón. Su calidez, generosidad y espíritu seguirán viviendo en la vida de su esposa, sus hijos y todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo.

Le sobreviven su madre; su esposa durante 17 años, Gabriela Elías Millán; cuatro hijas, Bianca López Elías, Jenifer López Elías, Adelaida Figueroa-Elías y Jaquelin Figueroa-Elías; un hijo, Josue Figueroa Elías; una hermana, Eva Figueroa-Gallardo; y dos hermanos, Marcos Figueroa-Gallardo y Elías Figueroa-Gallardo.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el domingo 9 de noviembre de 2025 a las 2:00 p.m. en Jenkins Funeral Home, con el pastor Armando Durán de la Iglesia Evangélica Cristiana oficiando.

La familia recibirá a los amigos de 1:00 a 2:00 p.m. el mismo domingo, 9 de noviembre de 2025, en el Celebration Center de Jenkins Funeral Home.
