Juanita Bumgarner Alexander, 75, of Hickory passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Carolina Caring. Born February 6th, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Rex J. Bumgarner Sr. and Janie Mae Stuart Collins.
Mom was a great loving, caring mother and nanna. She cared for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was so full of life and love and had the biggest heart anyone had ever seen. She was always there for us all whenever we needed her or guiding words of wisdom. There was never a dull moment when mom was in the room. She loved talking about God and spreading his word and name to anyone and everyone. Whenever she would meet a new face; that person would leave with a knowledge of God and a new friend. She wasn’t afraid to express her opinions or to give a smack behind the head if one of the family members needed it. She was the backbone of our family; one that can never be replaced. She left us with a forever lasting memory of love, devotion, and a heart of gold. She may not be here physically anymore but she will forever be in our hearts.
She is survived by five children Rosalind Barglesy (Charles), Ronnie Raybon (Jesika), Debbie Keller, Jimmy Raybon, and Kim Herman; a brother Rex J. Bumgarner Jr. (Rhonda); thirteen grandchildren Joshua Phillips, Darrell Phillips, Lynn Willis (Casey), Tracy Herman (Brittany), Philip Keller, Johnathan Freeman, Jordan Canterbury, Brooklynn Bumgarner, Laizsha Bumgarner, Xavier Raybon, Caroline Huffnagle, Layla Stroops; ten great-grandchildren Julian Phillips, Briana Phillips, Chloe Phillips, Harley Phillips, Addison Pendley, Cooper Willis, Silas Willis, Case Herman, Presleigh Herman, and Willow Herman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters Jessi Amanda Raybon and Angela G. Keller; a sister Lilly Estelle Laws; and a brother Richard Smith.
The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 21, 2023 at Brookford Community Building at 1700 S. Center Street, Hickory, NC, 28603.
