Karla Leanna Hines Blackwell

Karla Leann Hines Blackwell, 45, of Hickory passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Carolina Caring Sherrills Ford Hospice House. Born July 3rd, 1979 she was the daughter of the late Michael Garcia and Mary Sue Hines. 

She had a creative side and enjoyed working on diamond art, finding joy and relaxation in placing each tiny gem to create something beautiful. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her family, cherishing every moment she shared with the people she cared about most. She was also a big fan of the New Orleans Saints, always cheering them on with excitement. She loved watching WWE, and her favorite wrestler was John Cena—she never missed a chance to see him in action. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley, enjoying his music and legacy. Above all, she had a big heart, especially when it came to her beloved pets, Sage and Mya. She adored them and treated them like family. Whether she was crafting, laughing with loved ones, or watching her favorite teams and stars, she brought warmth and happiness to those around her.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years Neal Blackwell of Hickory, NC; three daughters Analicia Warren of Hickory, NC, Kaylee Hines of Hickory, NC, and Brooklynn Blackwell of Hickory, NC; two grandchildren Jace Warren and Kinsley Lawrie both of Hickory, NC; a sister Ledonna Scruggs of Benbrook, TX; a brother Jimmy Hines of Benbrook, TX; two nieces Mary Hines of Fort Worth, TX and Abby Cash of Fort Worth, TX; and a nephew Jacob Hines of Fort Worth, TX.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Marty Hines; a niece Amber Osburn; and her maternal grandparents Susie Endel and George Endel.
