Katherine Elaine Fischer

Katherine Elain Fischer, 76, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Carolina Caring –Robin Johnson House. Born on Wednesday, July 13, 1949, she was the daughter of Eugene Dubetsky and Edna Dubetsky.

Katherine dedicated more than 30 years of her career to the Zippo Manufacturing Company before retiring.

She loved sewing and crocheting and had a knack for turning simple finds into beautiful creations, including a five-dollar Habitat for Humanity couch she made look brand new.

She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Reedy (Dale) and Pam Johnston; sisters Maria Fairfield, Barb Moyer, and Regina Ash; brother Tony Dubetsky;Granddaughter Crystal Reedy; grandsons Shane Reedy (Racheal), Josh Johnston (Rebecca), Ryan Johnston, and Kyle Johnston; great-grandchildren Carter, Averlee, Charleigh, and Shawn Reedy; as well as Madilyn Hester; Faith and Connor Carpenter; and Brinleigh, Herman, Leann, Raelynn, Emily and Dylin Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Fischer; her father, Eugene Dubetsky; her mother, Edna Dubetsky; her sisters, Carol Holly and Rita Russell; brother, Lester Dubetsky; and her grandson, Dylan Johnston.

A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held at a later date.
