Katie Mae Carey Card, 75, of Hickory passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House. Born November 10th, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Dan Carey and Vera Ussery Carey.

Katie was deeply loved by both her family and her spiritual family, touching the lives of so many with her kindness and warmth. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating special memories with them every chance she had. She had a true gift for hospitality and made everyone feel welcome in her home. Katie's caring nature and generosity made her a source of comfort and support for those around her. She worked hard both inside and outside the home, always giving her best in everything she did. Above all, her love for Jehovah, God, was the foundation of her life. Proverbs 3:5,6. Even on her sickbed, her faith was not shaken. She knew that Death would not be the end of her. Even though it hurts the pain is only temporary because she knew that soon, very soon, we will see her again. Revelation 21:3,4. The memory of her lives on with the lives that she touched. Only until that day where we will be able to hug her once again.
