Keniethea “Scotty” Smith Teague

June 11, 1962 – September 5, 2026

Keniethea “Scotty” Smith Teague, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, was called home to the Lord on September 5, 2026, at the age of 64. A lifelong resident of the Hickory area, Scotty leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, family, and countless memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Scotty was a devoted stay-at-home mom who dedicated her life to her family. She was deeply family-oriented and found her greatest joy in the people she loved. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones, always bringing her own spirited and boisterous personality into every gathering. She had a way of making life a little louder, a little more colorful, and certainly more memorable.

Scotty loved to have a good time and never needed much of an excuse to enjoy the moment. She had a special love for animals and treasured the simple pleasures of life. She loved the mountains and the beach, and she especially enjoyed fishing down at the river. She also shared a beautiful friendship with her best friend, Lynn Richards, with whom she made many treasured memories and shared plenty of stories over a bottle of wine.

Though Scotty battled lifelong illness, she continued to live her life with strength, spirit, and an appreciation for the people and moments that mattered most. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and as a follower of the Baptist faith, she now rests in the loving arms of the Lord.

Left to cherish her memory are her family, including Mack Cornellious Teague; her daughter, Kendel Rose, and her husband, Robby Speagle; her son, Dustin Teague, and his wife, Rachel Roberts; her beloved grandson, Brock Rose; and her dear friend, Lynn Richards, along with many other family members and friends whose lives were touched by Scotty's love and unforgettable spirit.

She was preceded in being called home by her parents, Judy Elaine Smith and Kenneth Lester Smith, and her brother, Kip Smith.

Scotty will be remembered for her big personality, her love of family, her affection for animals, her adventurous heart, and the laughter she brought wherever she went. She lived a life filled with love, and those fortunate enough to know her will carry her memory with them always.

Though our hearts are heavy with her absence, we find comfort knowing that Scotty has been called home to the Lord, where she is finally free from pain and illness and resting peacefully in His presence.

Until we meet again, Scotty. You will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
