Kenneth James Knight Sr.

Kenneth James Knight Sr., 71, of Newton, finished his final project on Saturday, March 28, 2026, passing peacefully at his daughter's home. Born June 13, 1954, he was the son of the late Jessie James Knight and Thelma Louise Knight.

Kenneth was an avid gardener and a skilled machinist who loved working with his hands. He was rarely idle, always tending to a project or spending time in his garden, where he found peace and purpose. He took great pride in growing vegetables and sharing them with his family, friends, and neighbors. A man of few words, his actions spoke volumes about his love and dedication.

He was a faithful member of Discovery Church in Newton.

He was survived by his daughter, Tina Mingus (Michael); his son, Kenneth Knight Jr.; his three cherished grandchildren, Ashton Knight, Hannah Mingus, and Ellison Knight; and his siblings, Tommy Knight (Beverly), Cheryle Mitchell (Danny), Patricia O'Brien, Wendell Knight (Regina), and Martha Hall (Kerry).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Knight, and his son, Johnny Knight.
