Leonard George Schenck Jr.,75, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with kidney and heart disease.

Leonard dedicated more than 30 years of his life to the Concord Telephone Company. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at City Pawn Shop, where he loved visiting and sharing stories with friends. Above all, Leonard cherished his family. One of his greatest joys was surprising his loved ones with birthday cakes each year, especially his two grandchildren, a tradition they will forever treasure.
Leonard is survived by his son, Andrew Lawson Schenck and daughter-in-law, Katie, of Hickory, North Carolina; his beloved grandchildren, Paige Evelyn Schenck and Luke Lawson Schenck, both of Hickory, North Carolina; his twin brother, Lyndle Schenck of Charlotte Hall, MD; long time girlfriend, Rachel Kinley, of Trinity, NC.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Leonard George Schenck Sr. and Dorothy Cranford Schenck.
The family sincerely thanks everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Leonard will be remembered for his quiet kindness, and the simple ways he made others feel loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that his memory be honored through continued acts of kindness to others.
A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at a later date.
