Macy Hendershot

Macy Marie Hendershot, 33, left us to enter a world of perfect beauty on July 23, 2022. She was born April 3, 1989, to Norman and Beth Hendershot of Hickory. Macy graduated from St. Stephens High School and studied photography at Appalachian State University. She traveled widely, attending concerts and festivals to celebrate the joy of music. She worked as an event planner and was developing professional skills as a dog groomer. One of Macy’s proudest roles was being Auntie to her nieces and nephew. Her bubbly, outgoing personality brought sunshine to us all.

Macy is survived by her parents, Norman and Beth, her siblings Tate (Britney) Hendershot, Laine (Shaun) Yount, Martha (Derrick) Hendershot, and nieces Finley and Hadley Yount, Evangeline Norman and Austyn Harmon, and nephew Asher Yount.

Visitation will be Friday, July 29, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., at Yea God Church, 691 9th Street NW, Hickory, NC 28601. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 p.m., and flowers or donations may be sent to the church. Donations to Hartman's Haven Animal Rescue, PO Box 742, Conover, NC, 28613, will also honor Macy’s love of dogs and her desire to see them rescued.
