Marcy Lynn Chattin McDonald

Marcy Lynn Chattin McDonald, born June 15, 1972, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 53 on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Catawba Valley Hospital in Hickory, North Carolina.

Marcy was a resident of Hickory, where she was known and loved by many friends who supported and cared for her deeply. She graduated from Good Shepherd Lutheran School in East Ridge, Tennessee, and later attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Conover, North Carolina, where she found comfort in her faith and community.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Leon Chattin, and her mother, Starlet McClain Chattin.

Marcy is survived by her uncle, Michael D. Chattin Sr., and her aunt, Debra Alford Chattin, along with many cousins who will cherish her memory.

Marcy’s presence brought connection and warmth to those around her, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marcy had a quiet strength and a gentle spirit that drew people in. She carried a kindness that could be felt without words, and her life touched others in ways both simple and profound. Whether through friendship, faith, or shared moments, she left an imprint of care and sincerity that will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 16 at 3:00 P.M. at Cross Culture Church, 5704 Marlin Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37411.
