Monica Propst

Monica Irene Gantt Propst, 42, of Hickory, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Sherrills Ford Hospice House. Born on November 27th, 1981, she was the beloved daughter of Gary Lee Gantt and Patricia Jackson Frasure. Monica found joy in the beach, mountains, and, above all, in the love for her son, Jackson. Her passions included music, her plants, crafting, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. Whether engrossed in reading, building puzzles, or nurturing her garden, Monica cherished most moments spent with family and friends. Known for her love and compassion, she leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who love her.

She is survived by her son Jackson Daniel Propst and his father Scott Daniel Propst; her mother Patricia Frasure (Roger) of Conover; her father Gary Gantt (Tracy) of Conover; a sister Barbara Gantt (Lance Crowe) of Conover; a niece Grace Crowe; an aunt Karen McCaskill of Hudson; six cousins Jessica Jackson, Chanda Schwartz, Dustin Jackson, Levi Jackson, Christina McCaskill, and Julian Jackson; five second-cousins Caitlyn Beatty, Charlotte Jackson, Joselyn Jackson, DeLainy Jackson, and Lincoln Jackson; and her loving fur baby and best friend Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, uncles, and several family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, February 19th, 2024, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3730 N Center Street, Hickory, NC 28601 with Rev. Jill Isola officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, beginning at 4:00 PM.
