Richard Parkhurst

Richard Allen Parkhurst, 72, of Hickory passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at his daughter's home. Born September 22nd, 1950 he was the son of the late Walter and Annie Huffman Parkhurst. Richard was a Private in the Army before he worked as a painter for over fifty years. He loved his life and loved living life! He will be remembered for how he lived, his way and on his terms. He enjoyed fishing and loved the Lord.

He is survived by a daughter Bobbie Jo Parkhurst of Hickory; a son Richard Parkhurst Jr. (Shelia) of Richland, NC; three sisters Becky Bolton of Conover, Linda Hilton of Conover, Frances Watts of Hickory; eight grandchildren Noah Walker, Levi Walker, Josh Wallace, Ashley Sweitzer, Tyler Shook, Mikki Jo Calloway, Ella Calloway, and Sonny Nelson; and twelve great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lesley Diane Graham; two sisters; and six brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM at his daughter's home at 3711 22nd Street Ct NE Hickory, NC 28601.
