Richard Allen Shillito, 63, of Conover, North Carolina, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and love shared with family and friends.

Richard was known for his kind heart, quick humor, and loving spirit. He had a way of making people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went. A proud junker, Richard enjoyed finding value in things others overlooked — a reflection of how he lived his life, always seeing worth and goodness in people.

Above all, Richard loved his family. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, stories, and unconditional love. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his humor, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Shillito (Nathan Thomas) and Avery Shillito; his beloved grandchildren Emry Shillito, David Shillito, Paisley Shillito, Bailey Shillito, and Dakota Fowler; along with numerous brothers and sisters and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Richard’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched along the way.
