Robert Michael Vowells

Robert Michael Vowells, 66, of Hickory, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at his home. Born in Essex County, Massachusetts, on August 15, 1959, he was the son of the late Thelma Rose Welch.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. Known to many as “Bobby,” he found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley, fishing, collecting coins, and enjoying time with his dog, Daisy. He also had a love for his Chevy truck and cherished reconnecting with old friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Anne Marie Beach (Eddie); his son, Michael Vowells, currently serving in the United States Navy; and three grandchildren, Tristen, Olivia, and Aria. He is also survived by his siblings, April Spann of Hickory, NC, Mike Vowells (Mary) of Henderson, Nevada, Jeffrey Vowells of Lynn, Massachusetts, Sheilla Bartnick (John) of Canton, GA, and Peter Phasoulas of Conover, NC; his girlfriend, Norma Jean Killian; and his beloved dog, Daisy.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Vowells.

He will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved him.
