Shana Meyer

Shana Joy Meyer, 32, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 5, 1991, she was the beloved daughter of Daniel Thomas Meyer and Joyce Ann Wagner.

She was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, where she earned her Bachelor of Nursing. Shana worked as a dedicated Psychiatric RN at Broughton, Jonas Hill Psychiatric Unit, and Frye South Campus.

Shana was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her children above all else. She was an amazing partner to her fiancé and a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend. Shana’s smile, devotion, and hard work touched the lives of many.

Shana is survived by her fiancé Dewayne Watson; her girls, Amariah Danielle, Avayah Joy, and Aliviah Marylee; Dewayne's two sons Khalil and Dewayne Jr.; Nazareth, who was like a son; her mother, Joyce Wagner of Hickory; her father, Daniel Meyer (fiancé Naja Souto) of Little River, SC; her brother, Mason Meyer (Laura) of Wilmington; and numerous other family members and friends who she all loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Russell and Donna Meyer, her maternal grandparents, John and Agnes Wagner; and an aunt Deolinda Wagner.

The family will receive friends during the visitation from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the sanctuary of Corinth Reformed Church, 150 16th Ave NW, Hickory, NC 28601.

There will be a Celebration of Life following the visitation at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Barbara Bell officiating and Rev. Kevin Ussery will be delivering the Eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for Shana's girls, the checks can be written to Joyce Ann Wagner with memo reading Grandchildren's Education Fund.
