Stevie Lee Billings, 73, passed away on August 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry his love in their hearts.
Stevie was a man of deep and abiding faith who loved God and found comfort in his relationship with the Lord. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he enjoyed attending Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he worshiped, found fellowship, and shared in the blessings of his faith.
Stevie found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors, but some of his most treasured memories were made while digging for gold and gemstones with his son, Matthew. Those adventures were about much more than what they might find in the ground, they were about spending time together, making memories, exploring, and enjoying the precious gift of family.
Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Laramie Billings and Hazel Louise Billings. Though his family mourns his passing, they find comfort in knowing that Stevie's earthly journey is complete and that he is now resting peacefully with his Lord.
Stevie is survived by his children, his daughter, Christy Billings, and his son, Matthew Billings. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Meridian Woodruff, Kolt Woodruff, River Billings, Nathan, Riley, Jackson, and Jasper, who will carry his memory and the love he gave them throughout their lives.
He is also survived by his stepsons, Jeremy Earp and his wife, Emily, and Joseph Earp and his wife, Mary Beth. Stevie cherished his family, and the love shared among them will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
He is also survived by his brothers and sister and their families, including Michael and Susan Billings, Patricia and Charles Turnmire, and Ronnie and Rebecca Billings, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Stevie's life was built around the things he held dear: his faith in God, his family, the outdoors, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. He was happiest when he could spend time with the people he loved, whether fishing, attending church, spending time with family, or enjoying an adventure searching for gold and gemstones with his son.
His family will remember him in the quiet moments, in the stories shared around the table, in the peacefulness of a day spent fishing, in the excitement of searching for a hidden treasure, and in the prayers and hymns of church. These memories are precious reminders of a man whose presence touched the lives of those around him.
Although Stevie has left this earthly life, the love he gave his family will never be lost. A father's love remains in his children, a grandfather's love remains in his grandchildren, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
His family takes comfort in knowing that Stevie is now in the hands of the God he loved and trusted. There will be tears because he will be deeply missed, but there will also be gratitude for the years he was given, the memories he created, and the love he shared.
May God surround his family with comfort and strength during this difficult time. May they find peace in their faith, comfort in one another, and hope in the promise of being reunited again.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
— Psalm 116:15
