Terrence O'Malley

Terrence Vincent O'Malley, 85, of Hickory passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born January 7th, 1938 he was the son of the late Vincent P. O'Malley and Mildred O'Malley. He was a member of the Spoonpluggers of America and a fishing instructor and mentor for many of the members around the world. He coached football and basketball at Saint Monica and St. Stephen's Elementary Schools. He was the most understanding, nonjudgmental, loving, caring, and inspiring father, husband, coach, mentor, friend, and all around person who was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a little rough around the edges but he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone he loved. He will be severely missed and loved by his family and friends.

He is survived by his two daughters Madelynn Condon and Jacquelynn O'Malley-Estes; the mother of his daughters Dawn Bridges; two sons that he never had but always wanted son-in-law Jarred Condon (spouse of Madelynn) and William McAlister (friend); five grandchildren Emma Cook, Joseph Estes, Cheyanne Estes, Georgia Estes, and Jordan Estes; and some of his special co-fisherman John Bales, Paul Prorok, John Zhaborney, and Chase K.
