William "Bill" Richardson

William “Bill” Thomas Richardson, 67, of Taylorsville won his battle with cancer and entered his heavenly home on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Bill was born in Statesville, NC on December 18, 1956, to the late Mary Katherine Rumple Richardson and William Lee Richardson. He was a member of Discovery Church in Newton, NC where he attended every Sunday morning, proudly.

Bill worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years when he retired in early 2022. After retiring, he worked with his best friend, Michael, for Hot Rod Customs where they enjoyed each other's company more than working.

Bill leaves behind his wife of almost 30 years, Karen Blevins Richardson; a daughter, Erin Richardson of Conover; their two precious furbabies, Baylee and Katie; a grand-dog and best buddy, Jeter; a sister, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, and SO many friends who became family over the years.

While we lost our most beloved husband & dad, countless others have lost a friend and loved one in Bill. To know him was to love him. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor to others, and even a glorious pain in the neck to a small select few. No matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he'd be by your side if you needed him. There was so much more to him than just a husband and dad, though to us that was his greatest role - he was also a friend, a coworker, a brother, a cousin, an uncle, second dad to numerous; the list goes on and on. It was his wish that we laugh and reminisce and smile together during this time.

The Celebration of Life Party will be from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a special time to share at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658.
